El Hosseny Dance School (EHD Helsinki) is a leading center for authentic Egyptian
Oriental dance and folkloric traditions in Finland.
Founded in 2009 and directed by the internationally renowned Egyptian dancer and
choreographer Mohamed El Hosseny, the school is widely recognized as a reference
point for Egyptian dance education in Northern Europe.
With a professional career that began in 1987, Mohamed El Hosseny brings
decades of direct stage experience — from the legendary Reda Troupe and
Mahmoud Reda’s private company to international theatres, festivals, and official
cultural productions. At EHD School, students are guided from their very first steps
to advanced and contemporary interpretations rooted in authentic Egyptian dance
heritage.
One of the defining strengths of El Hosseny Dance School is its professional and authentic teaching of the
Mahmoud Reda style, one of the most influential and respected styles in the history of Egyptian folkloric
and theatrical dance.
Mohamed El Hosseny was the principal dancer of the Reda Troupe and also performed extensively with
Mahmoud Reda’s private company, taking part in numerous distinguished stage
productions. Through this rare and direct lineage, he gained profound insight into the technical, musical,
expressive, and stylistic secrets of the Reda method.
At EHD School, the Mahmoud Reda style is taught with:
